PROPOSED SC 421 (AUGUSTA ROAD) OVER LITTLE HORSE CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Public Information Meeting

 

 

Thursday, October 18, 2018, 5-7 PM

at Clearwater Elementary School

4552 Augusta Rd, in Clearwater, SC

 

Project:

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes to replace the bridge over Little Horse Creek along SC 421 (Augusta Rd). The bridge is located approximately five miles east of the Savannah River in Clearwater, SC. The purpose of the project is to correct the functional and structural deficiencies associated with the existing bridge. 

 

Meeting:

SCDOT invites citizens to attend a public information meeting on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Clearwater Elementary School located at 4552 Augusta Rd, in Clearwater, SC. The meeting will be held in an open house format where guests are welcome to drop-in at their convenience to view project displays and to talk with the project team members. Informal, written and verbal comments will be collected during the meeting, and the project team will consider these comments while preparing the design.

 

Purpose of the Meeting:

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents concerning the project.  Engineering and environmental personnel from SCDOT and its consultant will be available to discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.  Maps and drawings of the proposed improvements will be available and attendees may ask questions and provide comments regarding the possible social, economic, and environmental effects of the project. Other purposes of the meeting are to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area and to discuss the proposed Section 4(f) de minimis finding for project work relative to Harrison-Caver Park.
