Proposed Bridge Replacement Projects

US 76/378 Bridge over US 601

and

US 601 Bridge over Colonels Creek

Meeting:

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled a Public Information Meeting for Tuesday, June 18, 2019, concerning the following proposed bridge replacement projects in Richland County: US 76/378 Bridge over US 601 and US 601 over Colonels Creek.

 

The meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crossroads Community Center located at 2750 McCords Ferry Road, Eastover, SC 29044.  The meeting will have a drop-in type format with displays for viewing, and citizens will have the opportunity to provide written comments.  Project information, including meeting materials and comment forms will also be available on the project website (http://scdot.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=ad0524856c254208965a4a1cd1312bf8&folderid=4e17c266ce0948f09afdf3b21f429b15) or on SCDOTs website (http://www.scdot.org, Programs & Projects, Current Projects, Midlands).

Purpose:

The purpose of the meeting is to provide interested citizens an opportunity to review and discuss individually with representatives from SCDOT the proposed replacement of the bridge on US 76/378 (Garners Ferry Road) over US 601 and the bridge on US 601 (McCords Ferry Road) over Colonels Creek.  Another purpose of the meeting is to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.  These projects are proposed as part of the Federal Highway Administration's Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program, which is designed to replace bridges that are structurally deficient and/or functionally obsolete.
