I-77 Northbound Pacing Operation for SC 277 Bridge Construction

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will utilize temporary lane closures and pacing operations in the northbound lane on I-77 between mile marker 16 (I-20) and mile marker 19 in Richland County on Thursday night, March 26, 2020.  The purpose is to facilitate the construction of the new SC 277 Northbound Bridge over I-77.

Lane closures will begin at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday and will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) will temporarily pace traffic at a controlled, reduced speed through the work zone for a maximum of 20 minutes during the lane closures.

SCDOT reminds the public to use caution while driving through work zones. Motorists can use SCDOT's 511 Traveler system: http://www.511sc.org/  to help make travel decisions.  For more information concerning this project, the public may contact SCDOT Construction Engineer, John Burns at (803) 699-5068.
