Intersection Improvements – S-73 (Fish Hatchery Road) / S-719 (Busbee Road) - Lexington County

The S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announces the start of an Intersection Improvement project on Fish Hatchery Road at Busbee Road in Lexington County.  The purpose of this project is to construct a traffic circle, creating a safer intersection for the traveling public.

Effective October 19, 2020, this intersection will be transitioned into an "All Way" stop configuration.  This stage is expected to be in place until the traffic circle is constructed.  All construction is estimated to be completed by late summer of 2021.  Additional notification will be provided prior to any further changes to traffic patterns.

This project in Lexington County is funded by the new state gas tax.  The new gas tax supports SCDOT's 10-Year Plan to improve the quality of South Carolina's roads and bridges after 30 years of deferred maintenance due to lack of funding.

Motorists traveling through the work zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working adjacent to traffic at all times. "Let 'em Work. Let 'em Live."
