SCDOT Seeks Public Comment on Modifications to Bridge Replacement Projects on the Interstate/National Highway System (NHS)

District4-image2.jpgThe South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is providing public notification of schedule updates for previously approved bridge replacement projects. The bridges were initially approved by the SCDOT Commission for inclusion in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) to initiate engineering design and environmental studies. As a result of additional state funding, a complete project delivery schedule including right of way acquisition and construction work phases are provided in the release. 

The projects include replacing 44 structurally deficient bridges on the Interstate/NHS in 24 counties and that have been identified as candidates for replacement based on statewide ranking criteria.

Pending consideration of public comments, the updated project schedule information will be reflected in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

A copy of this press release, a listing of priority bridge replacements and location maps for each project are available for public review and comment until January 30, 2017 on line at:
